Larry Wayne Channel

Larry Wayne Channel, 61 of Oakland Maryland, Crellin Community passed away on Monday, February 06, 2017 at Garrett Regional Medical Center. He was born September 20, 1955 in Kingwood at Preston Memorial Hospital, son of the late Luther George and Juanita Elaine Richards Channel. He is survived by his wife Rhonda Lynn Winters Channel whom he married June 7, 1975. Larry graduated from Newburg High School, Class of 1974, worked at Sheidow Bronze which was last Matthews Bronze. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and taking the 1966 Impala that he and his brother Jim owned to car shows. Larry was also an avid WV Mountaineer fan. He was a member of the Crellin Assembly of God Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Christopher W Channel, Oakland, Ryan P Channel and wife Sonya, Meyersdale, PA; five grandchildren, Malachi, Alexander, Bethney, Sarah, Cheyenne; four siblings, John Channel and Marsha, Clarksburg, Barbara Martin and Tom, Masontown, WV, Janice Channel, Marquess, Charles Channel, Morgantown; In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Mary Jane Kooiker; brother, James "Jim" Edward Channel; niece Holland Kooiker and nephew Nathan Kooiker. Family and friends will be received at Crellin Assembly of God, 2220 Hutton Rd, Oakland, MD 21550 on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 11 am until the time of a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00pm with Pastor Russell R Houser officiating.
