Bonnie Ellen Nelson, 77 of Newburg, WV passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at home. She was born on March 21, 1945 in Fairmont, daughter of the late Russell Edward and Eulalah Mae (Carter) Plum. She worked as a Social Worker for DHHR in Preston and Taylor County with thirty-five years of service. Bonnie served on the Newburg Town Council for years, and went to the Newburg Senior Center. Bonnie was a member of Concord Community Church. She loved shopping, playing solitaire, being on Facebook and going out to eat. Bonnie is survived by one daughter, Barbara Ann Lamar and Jerry, Terra Alta; one son, Robert “Bobby” William Nelson Jr and Barbara, Newburg; eight grandchildren, Matthew Nelson and Jamie, Ian LaMar and Ashley, Noel Wentz and Jesse, Joel Nelson, Stacy Sisler and Sam, Kelsey Schmidle and Cody, Roger Knotts Jr., Zachary McCrobie and Zabra; fourteen great-grandchildren; her four legged fur buddy, Chase; and her cat, Prissy; two sisters, Dorothy Casteel, Newburg, and Roberta Faulknier (Rick), Morgantown; one brother, Jacob “Jack” Plum (Marty), Tunnelton; five sisters-in-law, Betty Plum, Kathy Plum, Marcina Plum, Connie Plum, and Doris Jean Plum; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Sue Stonebraker; seven brothers, Paul Plum (Shirley), Donald Plum, Charles “Buck” Plum, Martin Plum, Francis Plum, twin brother, Johnny Plum, and Calvin Junior Plum; one brother-in-law, Archie Casteel. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave, Newburg, WV on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm and on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 Noon with Rev.
