Obituary
Opal C. Sperandio, 90 of Arthurdale, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. She was born on October 15, 1932 in Preston County, daughter of the late David F and Elma Metheny Chedester. After retiring from the State of WV Department of Employment Security as Manager of the Unemployment Compensation Division she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Literature from WVU. She enjoyed reading, gardening and listening to music. Opal is survived by one daughter, Deborah Elliott, Arthurdale; one son, Christopher Sperandio, Houston, TX; one sister, Mary Drury. Orrtanna, PA; three grandchildren, Jessica Morrow, Columbus, OH, Nathan Elliott, Arthurdale and Danielle Sperandio, Raleigh, NC; four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Opal is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Sperandio, two sons, David Mark Sperandio and Lawrence Sperandio Jr., three sisters, Maxine Tresino, Helen Castle and Dorothy Chedester.
