Obituary
Robert “Bob” Douglas Stakey, Sr., 85 of Newburg, WV passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at his residence. He was born on December 7, 1937 in Riverhead, NY, son of the late August Stakey Jr and Idabelle Liedlick. Bob graduated from High School in Riverhead, NY, and had two years of college. He served in the United States Navy. Bob was self-employed and worked as a contractor before retiring. He enjoyed farming and gardening. Bob is survived by five children, Denise Tucker, KY, Lisa Stakey, NV, Joleen Uhlig, CT, Raeann Stakey, Newburg and Robert Stakey Jr, CT; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Stakey; two sisters, Shirley Vanderoef and Katherine Stakey; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by one son, Curt Stakey; one brother, August Stakey III; former wife, Kathleen DiMauro Stakey. Per his wishes, Bob will be cremated.
