Emerson Monroe Bolyard, 75 of Tunnelton, Laurel Mountain Community, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at his residence. He was born on February 10, 1944, son of the late Howard Wesley and Wilma Etta Rutherford Bolyard. Emerson graduated from Fellowsville High School, Class of 1962. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Emerson retired from the Laborers Local #379. His hobbies were, farming, fishing, hunting, camping and being outdoors. Emerson’s second home was at Cool Springs Park where he spent a lot of his time. He loved spending time with his granddaughter and getting her off the bus. Emerson is survived by three sons, Brian M Bolyard and Cristal, Tunnelton, Rodney W Bolyard, Williamsburg, VA, Timothy K Bolyard, and companion Kasee, Milton, WV; one granddaughter, Bristal; three brothers, Leslie Bolyard, Independence, Colin Bolyard and Linda, Tunnelton, and Roger Bolyard and Carole, Thornton; one sister, Eris Bolyard, Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Emerson is preceded in death by his wife, Blinda Kay Bolyard in 2015, one brother-in-law, Dorsie Emmit Bolyard. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Monday, April 8, 2019 from 2-8PM, and Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 9AM until time of service at 11AM. Interment will follow at Mount Israel Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Col.
