Johnny R Murray, 61, Marquess passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 with family by his side. He was born on October 16, 1956, son of Myrl V Cline Murray, Marquess and the late William “Bill” R Murray. Johnny graduated from Newburg High School, Class of 1974. Johnny served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1974 to 1978. Johnny also known as “John” was a long time worker in bronze, creating a variety of patterns and molds. He was known for his hard work and dedication to not only his career, but to his family and friends. On January 18, 1981, he married the love of his life Debora S Andrews. Together, they had three children. Johnny and Debbie enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. After twenty eight years working at the local Bronze factory, he went on to Georgia where he spent eight years with Star Granite and Bronze. While in Georgia, he developed a close bond with numerous friends, whom he loved dearly. Not only was Johnny devoted to his work, family and friends, he cherished his relationship to God and had a strong bond with his heavenly father. Johnny was a loving husband, family man, selfless individual, and a one-of-a-kind soul. In addition to his mother, Myrl Murray, he is survived by his loving wife of thirty seven years, Debora S Murray, twin sons, Joshua E Murray and wife Kerri, Marquess, John W Murray and wife Tonya, Morgantown, one daughter, Jessica S Murray, Marquess and her fiancé, Robert Powell, Jr, Terra Alta; one granddaughter, Riley J Murray, Morgantown and one step-grandson, Trevor Powell, Terra Alta; three sisters, Carol Sigley and husband, Danny, Melanie Murray and fiancé Bob Thompson, Maria Haskiell, all of Marquess; and several nieces and nephews. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, William R Murray in 2012 and brother-in-law, George “Jake” Haskiell, Jr in 2003. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 2-8 pm, and at the Harbor of Life Church on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 9 am until time of service at 11am with the Rev Sam Cline officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Zion Cemetery, Marquess Rd, Moatsville. Military graveside service will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post#3081, the American Legion Taylor County Post#12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24, and their auxiliaries, and the US Marine Corps.
