Kenneth Boyd Hardy Sr, 76 of Masontown, WV formerly of Independence, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Preston Memorial Hospital with family by his side. He was born on September 27, 1942 in Independence, WV, son of the late Richard Fayne and Nellie Pearl Bolyard Hardy. Kenneth graduated from Newburg High School and served his country in Germany in the United States Army. He retired as a coalminer at Laurita Mining. He loved hunting and spending time at home with his family. Kenneth was survived by his loving wife, Linda May Beckner Hardy; two sons, Kenneth Boyd Hardy Jr. and Donna, Bruceton, Michael Allen Hardy and Melissa, Tunnelton; one daughter, Tracy Ann Wolfe and Jason, Tunnelton; nine grandchildren, Adrienne, Daniel, Caleb, Erin, Kayla, Megan, Jeremy, Rachel and Faith; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Ann Murphy and Jack, Michigan, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Hardy and Jim Hardy; one sister, Shelva Dombroski.
