Luther Howard Shahan, 95 of Fellowsville passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Grafton City Hospital.  He was born November 16, 1923 in Rowlesburg, WV, son of the late Datis and Martha Davis Shahan.  Luther was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII.  He worked construction in Charleston, WV but spend most of his career working for Magnus Coal Company as a heavy equipment operator. Luther was a member of the Fellowsville United Methodist Church, Tunnelton VFW Post 2345 and Fellowsville Ruritan Club. He enjoyed square dancing and listening to country music.  He is survived by his two granddaughters, Bridget M Phillips and husband TJ, Masontown, Jenny N Ellison and husband Mark, Morgantown; seven great grandchildren, Natalie Phillips, Haley Ellison, Kaitlyn Ellison, Marli Phillips, Julia Phillips, Daniel Ellison and Audry Ellison; daughter-in-law, Linda Miller and husband Dick, Tunnelton; neighbors, Jimmy Huffman and wife Theresa, Kevin Hamilton and wife Diane, all of Fellowsville; brother-in-law, Jack Miller, Washington, WV and his three children, Rod, Matt, and Susie Miller; nephew, John J Ball; close friend, Barbara Jean Knotts, Fellowsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joeann Shahan in 2000; son, Danny Lee Shahan in 1983; companion for many years, Frances Lucille Knotts in 2018; two brothers, Lester Lee Shahan, and Junior Brown Shahan; one sister, Elda Virginia Ball and husband Wilbert B Ball; two sister-in-law, Deitta Kay Miller and Louella Gray.  Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 1-7pm and Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 9am until time of service at 11am with Pastor David Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at Shaw Cemetery. Military graveside service will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post#3081, the American Legion Taylor County Post#12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24, and their auxiliaries, and the US Army National Guard of Camp Dawson.  Condolences online at www.bolyardfuneralhomewv.com
