Paul Stephens Jr., 89 of Newburg, WV passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 at his residence with family by his side. He was born October 31, 1929 in Huntington, IN, son of the late Paul Sr. and Opal Kunce Stephens. He served in the US Army during WWII and Korean War and was stationed in Germany and Korea. He retired in 1969 with over twenty years of service to his country. He graduated from Clear Creek High School in Huntington, IN. Paul was a member of the Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church. He retired from Sterling Faucet with over twenty one years of service and Summers Auto Parts. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and being a handyman. He is survived by his wife, Frances Marie Mitter Stephens whom he married August 1, 1953; two children, Debora “Debbie” Kay Hibbs and David, Newburg, Richard Alan Stephens and Peggy, Jasper, AL; five grandchildren, Meegan L Cordero, Newburg, Robert “Robbie” S Hibbs and Lana, Rhode Island, Tiffaney D Hassinger and Brian, Curry, AL, Matthew R Hibbs and Mary, Newburg, Donahue P Stephens and Jessica, Parrish, AL; fourteen great-grandchildren, Gabi, Isbella, Gigi, Bella, Lilah Rae, Ezra, Garrett, Maddox, Colton, Katelyn, Candance, Kayla, JJ and Cullen; one sister, Sue Boggs, Huntington, IN; one brother, Roger Lee Stephens, IL; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim Stephens, Don Stephens and Gene Stephens. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Sunday, August, 18, 2019 from 12 Noon – 6 PM and on Monday, August, 19, 2019 from 9AM until time of service at 11AM with Pastor Rotha Hall. Interment will follow at the Shay’s Chapel Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Col.
