Allen "Al" Ray Funk

Allen “Al” Ray Funk, 82 of Tunnelton, WV passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Preston Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 8, 1942 in Brandonville, WV, son of the late Raymond Francis and Violet Virginia (Nestor) Funk. Al owned and operated Al Starter and Alternator for over forty years. He enjoyed working in the garage, playing bingo and domino’s, family time and socializing at clubs. Al is survived by his wife 46 years, Sandra Kay (Fulks) Funk; six children, Allen Ray Funk Jr (Michelle), Tunnelton, Tonia Marie Funk, Tunnelton, Raymond Walter Funk, (Machelle), Akron, OH, Michelle Renee Moreland (Brian), Tunnelton, Zackary Scott Bergdorf, NJ, Selena Meagan Stanczyk (Michael) Kansas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; six brothers, Donald K. Funk, Tunnelton, Elwood G. Funk (Doris), Macedonia, OH, Darwin Funk, (Darla,) Reedsville, Ronald Funk (Carol) Arthurdale, Larry Funk (Lori),  Tunnelton, Gary Funk (Jeaninne),  Tunnelton, two sisters, Sharon Matlick  and Sue Holt both of Tunnelton; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Al is preceded in death by one daughter, Tamara Kay Bailey, one great-grandson, PJ;  two brothers, Kenneth Ralph Funk and Willard Francis Funk. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave, Newburg, WV on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 12:00 Noon until time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dave Biggins, Pastor Anthony Farvo, and Pastor Fred Webb officiating.
