Amanda Marie Wood

Amanda Marie Wood, 38 of Thornton, WV passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at her residence with family by her side. She was born on June 11, 1987 in Norfolk, VA, daughter of Christina Marie (Renas) Wood, Thornton and Wallace David Wood (Tammy), Elizabeth City, NC. She graduated from Open Campus High School, Class of 2006. She loved reading books and playing video games. Amanda was diagnosed with diabetes on June 18, 1996 and had a long battle over the years. In addition to her parents, Amanda was survived by one daughter, Skyler Marie Annabel Rose, Virginia Beach, VA; two sisters, Lynne Marie Wood and companion Charles, Grafton, Patricia Marie Wood, Norfolk, VA; five nieces, Lilly, Angel, Gabrielle, Ava and Grace. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
