Charles Warren Smith, Sr., 79 of Newburg, passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 at his residence. He was born on June 3, 1940 in Independence, son of the late Duke Warren and Cora Elizabeth Austin Smith. Charles enjoyed hunting, gardening, being outdoors in the yard, and playing cards. He retired from Jennmar with twenty-three years of service. Charles is survived by his wife, Mary (Weaver) Smith; three children, Charles Smith Jr, Kingwood; Raymond Bell and Rose, Newburg, Pamela Bell, OH, seven grandchildren, Cameron Smith and companion Amber, Kingwood, Cassie Plum and Brian, Tunnelton, Amanda Kennedy, OH, Ashley Bell and Justin, Newburg, Daphne Stemple, OH, Greg Bell, and Julie, Newburg, Michael Stemple, OH; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Doc Smith and Kenny Smith, MI; two sisters, Bonnie Smith, Grafton, Violet Pyles, Kingwood; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Louise Bolyard Smith in 2015; three brothers, Francis Smith, Terry Smith and Roy Smith; two sisters, Ruth Pyles and Ethel Towns. Family will receive friends at Bolyard Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from 2:00-6PM with proper distancing and face mask required. A private service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7PM with Pastor Delbert Lyons officiating, Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 11AM at Shay’s Chapel Cemetery.
