Charles "Butch" Joseph Corey

Charles “Butch” Joseph Corey Jr, 77 of Tunnelton, WV passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 30, 1947 in Morgantown, son of the late Charles Joseph Corey and Virginia Alice (Michaux) Corey Vasquez. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Charles enjoyed being outdoors, riding his mower and cutting grass. He loved his fur baby, Spikey. Charles is survived by his wife, Linda Lou (Phillips) Corey; three children, Christine Snyder and companion (Chris), PA, Richard Corey (Michele), TX, Victoria Calvert and companion (Kevin) Morgantown; four grandkids, Colin Schwager, Jesse Brennan, Quinn Snyder and Bryce Bracken; one sister, Lilly May Brumley, Tampa, FL; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy J Phillips;  three sisters, Pearl Caudill, Marian Sloan and Helen Corey. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 3:00-6:00 pm. Graveside service will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM with full military honors accorded by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard.
