Charles "Chad" Junior Bolyard

Charles Junior Bolyard 84, of Newburg, WV, passed away on January 10, 2025 at Mon General Hospital with family by his side. He was born on September 15, 1940 in Philippi, son of the late Arzie Smith and Susie Evelyn (Bell) Bolyard. Chad retired from CONSOL Mines with forty plus years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Chad was an all-around handyman who everyone could always count on. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and his beloved dog, Molly. Chad is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Myrtle “Joyce” (Hawkins) Bolyard whom he married on November 3, 1962; two daughters, Debbie Bolyard-Holub (Frank), Las Vegas, Sheila Swope (Nick), Cheat Lake; eight grandchildren, Jessica Holt (Tim), Bradley Bolyard (Chasidy),  Jerrid Ray Weaver, Brian Haskiell, TC Haskiell, Erica Bohon, Heather Mayle (Gary), Rachel Ross (Alex); eleven great-grandkids, Katheryne Holt, Journie Weaver, Trevor Bolyard, Leah Bolyard, Zachary Mayle, Enzlie Mayle, Paxton Ross, Angel, Steven and Addison; two sisters, Mary Skovranko, PA, and Gloria Miles, OH;  several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Chad is preceded in death by one son, Charles Lee “Bubby” Bolyard in 2012; one daughter, Sherry Lynn Bolyard in 2021; one brother, Robert Lee Bolyard; and one sister, Geraldine Verh. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home 79 Morgantown Ave, Newburg, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 10:00 am until time of service at 12 noon with Pastor Delbert Lyons and Pastor Mike Matlick officiating.
