Colin Kelly Bolyard, 79, of Fellowsville, (Laurel Mountain Community) passed away on September 12, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital with family by his side. He was born in Fellowsville on January 31, 1942, son of the late Howard Wesley and Wilma Etta Rutherford Bolyard. Colin graduated from Fellowsville High School, Class of 1960. Colin worked for Western Electric Company of Arlington, VA. Until April 1964. He was drafted into the U.S. Army at that time. He did his basic training at Fort Knox, KY and was transferred to headquarters and service battery 1st. Battalion, 14th Artillery, 2nd Armored Division, Fort Hood Texas. Was discharged in April 1966 and served over two years with the Army Reserve in Kingwood. He also worked as a construction worker for the Local Laborers Union #379 of Morgantown until 1969. Then he started as a Clerk-Operator for the B&O RR now CSX Corp. until January 31, 2001 with over thirty-two years of service. In 1969 Colin helped form the Fellowsville Fire Department, serving many years as President and help form the Mountaineer Ambulance Service. He was in the first EMT Class and served until 1989. He enjoyed camping, fishing, deer hunting, coaching basketball and baseball at Fellowsville School. His one love was going to the State Fair every year on vacation from the start of the fair until the last day, and he enjoyed the harness racing. He was an avid WVU Mountaineer Fan. Colin is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Linda Maxine Sheets Bolyard whom he married on August 21, 1971; two sons, Wesley Paul Bolyard and Heather, Albright, Troy Lynn Bolyard and Kelly, Newburg; one grandson, Christian Blair Bolyard; one brother, Leslie Bolyard, Independence; one sister-in-law, Carole Lynn Bolyard, Thornton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Colin was preceded in death by two brothers, Emerson Bolyard and wife Blinda Kay Bolyard, Roger Bolyard; one sister, Eris Bolyard and husband, Dorsie Emmit Bolyard. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 2:00-7:00 PM and Friday, September 17, 2021 from 9:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Preston County Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard of Camp Dawson.
