David "Rusty" Russell (Lipscomb) Shay

David “Rusty” Russell (Lipscomb) Shay, 60, of Independence, died at his home on Saturday, June 2, 2018. He was born April 10, 1958, son of Robert E. Lipscomb of Morgantown and the late Allie Gennell Livesay Lipscomb. Rusty was the type that when he set his mind to it, he was good at many things and loved to help people when he could. In addition to his father, he was survived by his daughters Keri Rivas and Heidi Shay of Westfield, MA; one stepson, Kevin Shay of Westfield, MA; two sisters, Connie Morton and husband Dennis of Conover, NC, and Cathy Polmatier of Westfield, MA; and one brother, Robert Lipscomb and wife Sandy; eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild; three nieces, five nephews, several uncles, aunts and cousins. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Gennell Bessonette; his paternal grandparents, Ervin J. and Lula P. Lipscomb; maternal grandparents, Everett and Flora Livesay; several aunts and uncles.
