David "Davy" Swisher Obituary

David “Davy” Brian Swisher, 45 of Fellowsville, Laurel Mountain Community, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 with family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 16, 1977, in Morgantown, son of Michael “Mike” Allen Swisher, Fellowsville, and the late Donna D (Brown) Swisher in 2020. Davy graduated from Preston High School, Class of 1995. He served in the United States Navy. After serving his country, Davy became a certified HVAC technician. He was employed by West Virginia Athletics Department “The Mountaineers” as a Trades Specialist. Being an avid Mountaineer fan Davy loved his job. He was a member of the Fellowsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Fellowsville Athletics Basketball Association for several years. He enjoyed helping everyone in the community and was very compassionate about coaching and mentoring while watching them grow and learn to love the game. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing with his family and friends and an occasional trip to the casino. He enjoyed spending quality time with his dad, loved big family gatherings and hanging out with his friends. He was full of life and loved telling stories. His world revolved around his whole family. He was a very proud dad and pap. He loved Brady and Payton very much and was very proud of them both. He adored and shared a very special bond with his granddaughter Hayven Jo, but to her pap she was his JoJo Bean. When he and JoJo Bean were together nothing else mattered. Davy is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Lisa Renae (Morris) Swisher, one son, Braydon David Swisher and Payton, Grafton, one granddaughter who was the apple of his eye, Hayven Jo; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Connie Morris, Newburg; three brothers-in law, Larry Morris, Newburg, Todd Morris and Elizabeth , Newburg, Brad Morris and Rachel, Grafton; one niece, Ellie Morris; three nephews, Wyatt Morris, Walker Morris and Dillon Koontz; five aunts, Wilma Larew, Newburg, Alberta Curry and Roger, Newburg, Anita Goff and Lewis, Newburg, Rita Murray and Matthew, Yorks Run, Dani Kelley and Mike, Fellowsville; one uncle, William “Bill” Brown, Newburg; several special cousins that he was very close too.
