Diamelen S. Bowman, age 69, of Middletown, DE, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
Born in Morgantown, West Virginia, on September 19, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and R. Donalda (Poling) Bolyard. After graduating from Sun Valley High School in Aston, PA, she attended the University of Delaware. Diamelen was previously employed by Quaker City, American Mirrex, and most recently, the Town of Middletown for over 20 years.
She enjoyed playing Dominoes and cards, particularly Hand and Foot, where heated arguments ensued between family. Diamelen was very adventurous and loved taking trips with family and friends. She really enjoyed her time going to Fellowsville, WV and Melbourne Beach, FL to spend it with her mom. Diamelen was a very selfless person, and would always go above and beyond and put others before herself.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ken Bolyard, Jr. Diamelen is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Michael H. Bowman Sr.; children, Tamara Shetzler, Michael Bowman Jr. (Katie), and Brad Bowman; brothers, Phillip and Donald Bolyard (Sandy); and grandchildren, Cade Bosco, Delaney Bosco, Rhiannon Bosco, Holten Bosco, Maycee Bowman, and a grandson due in November along with nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 1 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Interment will be held privately, as she will be laid to rest at K.P. Bolyard Cemetery in Fellowsville, WV, alongside her mother, father and brother. A luncheon for family and friends will follow the service from 2 pm until 6 pm at VFW Post 3792, 5695 Summit Bridge Road, Townsend, DE.
