Donald Keith Funk Sr

Donald Keith Funk Sr, 88 of Tunnelton, WV passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026 at his residence with family by his side. He was born on December 31, 1937 in Rowlesburg, WV, son of the late Raymond Francis and Violet Virginia (Nestor) Funk. Donald worked at Chrysler Corporation as a Machinist for several years. He was a member of West End Church for many years. He loved fishing, gardening, traveling and doing woodworking. Donald is survived by five children, Cheryl Ringer, Oakland, MD, Terry Moore, Tunnelton, Diana Haskiell and Tim, Tunnelton, Robin Rudder, Tunnelton, Donald Funk Jr and Terri, Canton, OH; three stepchildren, Debra Harker and Stephen, Apollo, PA, Barbara Johnson, Kingwood, Roger Bowmar and Susie, Tunnelton; nine grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; twenty-one step great grandchildren; two step great-great grandchildren; four brothers, Elwood G. Funk (Doris), Macedonia, OH, Darwin Funk, (Darla,) Reedsville, Larry Funk (Lori), Tunnelton, Gary Funk (Jeaninne), Tunnelton, two sisters, Sharon Matlick and Sue Holt both of Tunnelton; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Ann Funk, Arthurdale, Sandra Kay Funk, Tunnelton; Marlene Funk, MI; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his first wife; Phyllis Eileen (Messenger) Funk; his second wife, Lovetta May (Weaver) Bowmar Funk; one step daughter, Brenda Smith; one great grandson, Ethan; two sons-in-law, James Rudder, and John Ringer; one step son-in-law, Mark Johnson; four brothers, Kenneth Ralph Funk, Willard Francis Funk, Ronald Funk and Allen “Al” Ray Funk; one sister-in-law, Helen Funk.  Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave, Newburg, WV on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am with Pastor Sonny McNear and Pastor Fred Webb officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount View Cemetery.
