Eric Ray Lyons

Eric Ray Lyons, 51, of Tunnelton, WV, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, in Morgantown. He was born on March 11, 1975, in Manassas, VA, a son of the late Lindel Ray Winstead and Beverly Louise Dennis Lyons.

Eric attended Woodbridge Senior High School. Over the years, he worked as a laborer in West Virginia and Virginia. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his children.

Eric is survived by his four children, Brian Buckingham, Della Buckingham (Anthony), Eric Buckingham (Kenzie), and Erica Lyons; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Samuel, and Amy Buckingham, Aliyah Collins, Skyla Casteel, and Brayden Buckingham; four siblings, Charlotte Marie Lyons-Curfiss (Dave) of Spotsylvania, VA, April Leigh Bates (Robert) of Spotsylvania, VA, and Matthew Ellis Palmer (Joselyn) of Spotsylvania, VA,  and Hope Young, Kentucky; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Eric was preceded in death by his companion, Amy Lou Buckingham; and one brother, Donald “Punkin” Franklin Lyons; father figure Eric looked up to Donald "Duck" Paul Lyons. 

Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave., Newburg, WV, on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 3:00 PM -7:00PM with a funeral service at 4:00 PM during the visitation with Rev Ray Frankhouser officiating.
