Ervin “Herman” Joshua Lipscomb, Jr., 78 of Newburg, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Mon General Hospital with family by his side. He was born on January 28, 1944 in Bertha Hill, Star City, WV, son of the late Ervin Joshua Lipscomb Sr. and Lula Pearl (Huffman) Lipscomb. Junior retired from Sterling Faucet with twenty-six years of service. He was a member of the Christian Evangelical Church. He enjoyed watching TV and playing cards and Bolo with his family. Ervin is survived by two step-daughters, Eudora Marie Smith, Newburg, Sarah (Sally) Ann Lipscomb and Larry, Tunnelton; twelve step-grandchildren, Tina Collins and Ronald, Kingwood, Amy Stalnaker, Newburg, Andrew Smith, Morgantown, Patricia Moreland and Stephen, Kingwood, William Stone and Tanya, Reedsville, Scott Stone and Heather, Kingwood, Stacy Stone Kingwood, Yvonne Miller, Reedsville, Carla McGinnis and Mark, Grafton, Raymond Sigley and Sarah, Bruceton, Amos Sigley and Shirley, Newburg, Jennifer Wolfe and Rick, Morgantown;, nineteen step-great-grandchildren and six step-great-great-grandchildren; six brothers, Robert Lipscomb, Morgantown, Carl Lipscomb, Tunnelton, Donald Lipscomb and Elaine, Morgantown, Arthur Lipscomb and Molly, Tunnelton, Jerry Lipscomb and Nancy, Farmington, Larry Lipscomb and Sally, Tunnelton; four sisters, Shirley Snider, Morgantown, Phyllis Stewart and Dexter, Rivesville, Virginia Snyder, Morgantown, Joretta Stone, Kingwood; one step-son in law, Larry Sigley; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia May (McGinnis) Stone-Lipscomb; one step-son, William Howard Stone; one step-daughter, Charlotte Christine Sigley; three brothers, Billy Ray Lipscomb, Dale Lipscomb and Roy Allen Lipscomb; four sisters, Dorothy Williams, Nancy Hines, Violet Lipscomb and Arbutus Moran. Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 3-7 pm and Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 9am until time of service at 11:00 am with Pastor Robert Anderson and Pastor Sonny McNear officiating.
