Evelyn J (Mitter) Jennings

Evelyn J (Mitter) Jennings, 73 of Newburg, WV passed away in the early morning hours on Monday, February 3, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 29, 1951 in Grafton, daughter of the late Woodrow “Chuck” Wilson and Iva Evelyn Powell Mitter. It is impossible to summarize Evelyn’s vibrant life into a few simple sentences. However, if you knew her; you would know that she was fiercely loyal, unapologetically opinionated, and gifted with the ability to show others a deep and profound love. Evelyn graduated from Fellowsville High School, Class of 1969. She retired from OEM Office in 2014, as an administration assistant. Evelyn loved cooking, cleaning, gardening and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn had many titles in this life, she is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, D. Rolland (Buck) Jennings; three children, Chris Jennings (fiancé-Kim Murray), Laurel Mountain; Stacey Jennings Marshall (husband, Laird), Shepherdstown; Craig Jennings (wife, Jessica), Kingwood; but above all titles most precious to her, was the title of Nanny. Evelyn leaves behind three grandchildren, Cory Jennings (wife, Darcy), Blake Jennings, Evelyn Jennings; two great grandchildren, Casen Jennings and Huntlea Jennings; one sister, Pearl Sines and Jim, Terra Alta; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia “Gin” Rhodes, Mary Louise Cool; Ella Mae McKendrick; two brothers, Clyde Mitter and Erine Mitter. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave, Newburg, WV on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 3:00 pm–7:00 pm, and on Friday, February 7, 2025 at from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 Noon.
