Frances Lucille (Matlick) Knotts

Frances Lucille Knotts, 90 of Marquess Community, Fellowsville, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at her residence with family by her side. She was born on August 1, 1928 in Newburg, daughter of the late Arthur E and Arizona Wolfe Matlick. Lucille retired from Sterling Faucets with 35 years of service as assembly worker. She loved flowers, gardening and going shopping. She previously attended the Mount Zion United Methodist Church and Newburg Senior Center.  Lucille is survived by three children, Donald Paul Knotts and wife, Maida, Marquess, Frances “June” Friend and husband, David, Rowlesburg, Barbara Jean Knotts, Marquess; eight grandchildren, Jimmy Davis and wife Robin, Rowlesburg, Donna Shahan and husband, Tom, Laurel Mountain, Darrin Phillips and wife, Cookie, Marquess, Paula Matheny and companion, Chris Sisler, Independence, Rhonda Larew and fiancé Jesse Degarmo, Marquess, Dee Dee Hemingway and husband, David, Rowlesburg, DJ Friend and wife Mindy, Rowlesburg, Dawna Ashby and husband Mike, Oakland, MD; twenty great-grandchildren, Logan, Emily, Jesse, TJ, Carrie, Dixie, Brandon, Levi, Jacob, Levi, Emily, Britney, Deborah, Stephanie, Hanah, John, Ryan, Jisiah, Gabriel and Conner; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Velma Shaffer, Philippi; longtime companion, Luther Shahan; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Paul Knotts in 2000, one grandson, Kevin Knotts in 1989, one great grandson, Gabriel Gribble in 2000, two brothers, Howard Matlick and Harold Matlick; two sisters, Hazel Zinn and Elsie Shingleton. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St. Newburg, WV, Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 1-7pm and Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 12 noon until time of service at 2pm. Interment will follow at the Mount Zion Cemetery with Rev Sam Cline officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to WV Caring P.O.
