Fred Wayne Adams, 80 of Independence, WV, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital with family by his side. He was born on December 25, 1944 in Newburg, son of the late Clarence Edward Adams Sr. and Anna Bell (Akers) Adams. Fred had worked as a coal miner, in timber, working for Maurice Jennings, and the Town of Newburg. He enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and working on cars. He loved spending time with family and friends. Fred is survived by his wife, Darlene (Lyons) Adams; one son, Fred DeWayne Adams Jr (Beth), Reedsville; one daughter, Amanda Pisino (Darol), Independence; four grandchildren, Sierra Bachtel (Willie), Eglon, Shayla Adams, Reedsville, Issac Pisino and Chelsea Pisino, Independence; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by five brothers, Harry Glenn Adams (Delores), Charles Henry Adams (Marylee), Edwin Franklin Adams (Colleen), Clarence “June” Adams (Helen) and William Everett “Bill” Adams (Shirley); six sisters, Mary Ellen Adams, Evelyn Louise Adams, twins, Corrie and Nora Adams, Virginia May Larew (Ronald) and Ada Opal Parker Hutton (Lloyd). Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St. Newburg, WV, Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 3:00 – 7:00PM. And Thursday, July 10, 2025 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Damon Cemetery, Newburg.
