Homer Roy Pratt, Jr.

Homer Roy Pratt, Jr. 71, Tunnelton, WV, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at his residence. He was born January 9, 1953 in Grafton, son of the Homer Roy Pratt Sr and Genevieve (Pyles) Pratt. Homer Jr graduated from Newburg High School, Class of 1970. He served in the United States Army. Homer Jr retired from the Carpenter’s Union #132 and Federal Painting Inc. in VA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors, tinkering around and helping his family and friends. Homer Jr is survived by his companion, Eppy Bennett; two sisters: Carolyn Shaffer, Woodbridge, VA and Roberta Peacock (James), Lovettsville, VA, sister-in-law, Mildred Pratt, Leesburg, VA and Sheila Pratt, Gladesville; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, Homer Jr is preceded in death by six brothers, James Pratt, Roy Pratt, Ralph Pratt (Patricia), Ronald Pratt (Dorothy), Terrance Pratt and David Pratt; one sister, Vera Doraine Whiting; two brothers-in-law, Clyde Whiting and Paul Shaffer. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St. Newburg, WV, Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm with Pastor William “Bill” Warnick officiating. Interment will follow at the Pratt Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Preston County Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard.
