James "Jimmy" Bolyard, Jr Obituary

James “Jimmy” Leslie Bolyard Jr., 55, of Reedsville, WV, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, leaving behind a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Born on February 25, 1971, in Morgantown, Jim was the beloved son of James Leslie Sr. and Rosalie “Pose” Blanche (Childs) Bolyard of Newburg. A proud graduate of West Preston High School, Class of 1989, he carried his strong work ethic and loyalty throughout his life. Jim dedicated nearly three decades to Jennmar Corp in Reedsville, beginning his career in 1998 as a Safety Supervisor and rising to become a respected Senior US Drager Technician.

Jim lived life fully and simply—finding joy in the things he loved most. Whether he was fishing at sunrise, hunting in the quiet woods, camping under the stars, or laughing over a game of cornhole, he embraced every moment. He had a passion for RC cars, enjoyed riding his Harley and Razor, and was never happier than when he could kick back in his recliner with his dogs, Hummer, Baxter and Bailey after a long day. But above all, Jim treasured time spent with family and friends. His greatest joy was his granddaughter, Nova, who brought a special light into his life.

In addition to his loving parents, Jim is survived by his wife, Erin Reshell (Kisner) Bolyard; his children, James Leslie Bolyard III of Newburg, Michalea Noon (Grant) of Clarksburg, Halle Atkinson (Kaleb) of Reedsville, and Emma Volk of Reedsville; and his cherished granddaughter, Nova. He is also survived by his sister, Sabrina Ely (Steve) of Independence; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tim and Debbie Kisner; sisters-in-law, Tammy Maddy (Mike Peaslee) of Reedsville and Morgan Kisner (Jeremy Cale) of Masontown; and his nieces and nephew, Ryan (Bethany), Kaitlin, Braylon, Mason, Madison, Isabella, and Stella; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jim’s presence was one of strength, laughter, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the stories shared, the roads ridden, and the lives he touched.

Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave., Newburg, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 3:00–8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Those who shared the road with Jim over the years on their motorcycle and side-by-sides are invited to gather by 10:30 a.m. to line up and escort him to his final resting place at Shays Chapel Cemetery. A dinner will follow the graveside at the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department for all to attend.
