James "Jimmy" Ray Sheets

James “Jimmy” Ray Sheets, 85 of Newburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at his residence with family by his side. He was born on July 4, 1937 in Grafton, son of James Everett Sheets and Elsie (Watkins) Sheets. Jimmy is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Carole Jean (Sapp) Sheets; two sons, Pat Sheets and Crissy, Todd Sheets and Daphne; one daughter, Julie Hall and Ralph Phillips; eleven grandchildren, Angie Dale and Ed, Bryan Sheets and Samantha, Stephanie Browning and Eric, Brittany Campbell and Stephen, Christopher Sheets, Cody Sheets, Kaylie Wilson and Cody, Taylor Crane and Harley, Ally Sheets, Mikayla Sheets and Colt Sheets; twelve great-grandchildren, Damien Muzichuck, Megan Sheets, Ellison Browning, Beckett Connor, Mason Sheets, Hutson Browning, Lillian Crane, Pierson Browning, Gavin Crane, Brooke Sheets, Clare Campbell and Quinn Campbell; one brother, Paul “Dickie” Sheets and Tammy, one brother-in-law, Wayne Sapp and Ruth; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by two sons, Barry Wayne Sheets, James “Mike” Sheets; two brothers, Bill Sheets and George Sheets; two sisters, Alice Jean Walls and Lora Ann Bolyard; two brothers-in-law, George Sapp and Carl Sapp: one sister-in-law, Norma McGinnis; the family would like to thank Dr. Ramberg, Amedisys Hospice, and special nurse, Camille Clark Western for all the love and support during this difficult time.
