Jesse Bernard Weaver, 90 of Independence passed away on Saturday, December
2, 2023 at Beulahland Assisted Living. He was born December 29, 1932 in
Tunnelton, son of the late Roy Donald and Gertrude Gladis Estella Miller
Weaver. Jesse served his country in the United States Air Force and he retired
from Safeway as a diesel mechanic with over thirty years of service. His love
was building and fixing things. He designed and built his own house from scratch
twice, restored antique cars as a hobby, and later in life built his own Hot Rod. He
also enjoyed hunting and was a certified taxidermist and did his own taxidermy.
Jesse is survived by his son, David Russell Weaver and wife Barbara, Washington,
VA; two grandsons, Joshua David Weaver, Washington, DC, Samuel Edward
Weaver, Clarksburg, MD; nine siblings, Don Weaver and Amy Durr,
Independence, Jack Weaver and June, Brandywine, Lovetta Funk and Donald,
Tunnelton, Zelma Hensel and Ed, Iverness, FL, Reta Haube and Steve,
Howesville, David Weaver and Sandy, Independence, Ward Weaver and Rose,
Rupert, John Weaver and Cathy, Independence, and Ben Weaver, Clifton Mills, and
numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in
death by his wife June Marie Whaling Weaver on April 14, 2019; two brothers,
Bruce Weaver and Sarah, Jerry Weaver and Ruth; sisters-in-law, Deborah Rae
Weaver and Lena Weaver; brother-in-law, Blake Bowmar. Family and friends
will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave, Newburg, WV
on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 pm and on Monday,
December 11, 2023 from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am with Pastor
Mark Seese officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethlehem Cemetery.
