John Thomas Koch, 79 of Tunnelton passed away on Saturday October 27, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. He was born August 13, 1939, son of the late Charles E and Anna H Stevenson Koch. He graduated from Tunnelton High School, Class of 1957. He served in the United States Army and worked in banking for over twenty years. John attended Christian Fellowship Chapel. He is survived by his nephew, Justin Michael Koch, Cleveland, OH; one aunt, Bonnie Flanagan, Willoughby Hills, OH; several great friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael S Koch. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Sunday, November 4, 2014 from 2-5pm and on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 9am until time of Funeral service at 11:00am with Pastor Delbert Lyons officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery. Military graveside service will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post#3081, the American Legion Taylor County Post#12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24, and their auxiliaries, and the US Army National Guard of Camp Dawson.
