Johnson "Ed" Waldo Edmunds

Johnson “Ed” Waldo Edmunds, 78 of Tunnelton, WV passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Ed was born on October 7, 1943 in Whiteville, NC, son of the late Robert Johnson and Laura Louise (Thompson) Edmunds. Ed married Helen Hershman on November 13, 1965. Johnson graduated from Orrum High School, Class of 1961. He retried as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force with twenty-two and a half years of service and did two tours during the Vietnam War. He worked at the Chevrolet garage in Kingwood for eight and a half years, and the Division of Corrections for the State of WV for thirteen and a half years. Ed was a member of the Kingwood Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Ruritan in Fellowsville, Rowlesburg #VFW 3008, Canyon Hill, Blue Lodge #353, Myrtle Beach, SC, Scottish Rite, Newport News, VA, Khedive Temple, Newport News, VA. Ed is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, children, grandchildren, family and friends. In addition to his parents, Johnson was preceded in death by one brother, Luther Robert Edmunds. Graveside Service will be at the West Virginia National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 1:00 PM with military honors being accorded by the US Air Force Honor Guard.
