Joyce H. (Myers) Watkins

Joyce H. Watkins, 76 of Newburg, passed away at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, WV on Monday, July 14, 2025. She was born in Morgantown on August 29, 1948, daughter of the late Henry Franklin and Goldie R. Kelley Myers. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Lee Watkins.

Joyce was a longtime Certified Nursing Assistant and also worked as a Housekeeper. She was a devoted member of Shay’s Chapel Church, and she read her Bible daily. Joyce enjoyed baking and sharing her goodies, playing bingo, and sitting on the porch watching birds. Her greatest joy came from being with her family, whom she considered her greatest blessings.

Joyce is survived by three daughters, Tammy Sheets (Paul “Dickie”), Michelle A. Moon (John), Alicia Davis (Paul); one son, Travis Watkins; seven grandchildren, Emily Fischer (Nick), Madison Alderson (Ben), Stephanie Leonard, Elizabeth Watkins, David Watkins, Logan Field, Haley McCune (John);  eight great grandchildren, Olivia Grace, Cole, Claire, Cashton, Timmy, MacKenzie, Madison, and Alex; one sister, Janis Lewis (Ronnie); one brother, Ed Myers (Dot) and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Watkins and two children in infancy; five brothers, Floyd, Clifford, Everett, James, and Robert Myers; three sisters, Margaret Childs, Anna Mae Jackson, and Violet Myers.

Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave., Newburg, on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM and at Shays Chapel Church, Yorks Run Road, Newburg, on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 10:00AM until 12:00 Noon the hour of the funeral with Pastor Delisa Riley officiating.
