Karen Linda Gribble, 66, of Tunnelton, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Born February 22, 1960 in Kingwood, she was the cherished daughter of the late Louis Raymond and Hazel May Poling Darr.
Karen lived a life devoted to caring for others. She spent several years working at a casino in New Mexico before returning home to West Virginia, where she continued her calling as a CNA. She later retired from Hopemont Hospital, leaving behind many friendships and memories of her compassionate spirit and gentle heart.
Karen found joy in the simple things that made life beautiful. She loved collecting peacocks, a reflection of her vibrant personality, but her greatest happiness came from the moments spent with her family. Her love, laughter, and unwavering support will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
She leaves behind her loving children, Billie Jo Menear and husband Punk of Tunnelton, and William Wayne Zweyer Jr. and companion Amanda Davis of Morgantown; four beloved grandchildren, Ayden Menear, Conner Menear, Johnna Davis (Isaiah Right), and Mckinsey Sigley (Brandon); and two precious great-grandchildren, Oakley and Brayden, who brought endless joy to her life.
Karen is also survived by her sister, Marie Ridenour and husband Michael of Midland, TX; sister-in-law, Janet Darr of Tunnelton; a special “like a daughter,” Carolyn Moats and husband James Jr.; several nieces and nephews; and dear friend Mark Gordon.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her son, Danny Zweyer, and her brother, Louis Junior Darr.
Honoring Karen’s wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Bolyard Funeral Home and Crematory, who are honored to serve the Gribble family during this difficult time.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, Karen’s love and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
