Karen Sue (Nicholson) Murray

Karen Sue Murray, 72 of Fellowsville, (Marquess Community) passed away Wednesday February 10, 2021 at her residence with family by her side. She was born on June 10, 1948 in Morgantown, daughter of the late Wayne and Loretta June (Greathouse) Nicholson. Karen graduated from Valley High School. Karen worked at Sterling Faucet, Preston County Sherriff’s Office, Tax Office, Heartland of Preston County, and Company’s Comin.  She loved gardening, working with her flowers, spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook which she learned from her mother and was a Volunteer on the Preston County Election Board. Karen is survived by her two sons, Daniel Scott and Tammi Murray, Grafton, John Wayne and Jennifer Murray, Tunnelton, seven grandchildren, Hannah Murray, Heather Murray, Seth Murray, Sam Murray, Olivia Murray, Madison Murray and Joules Murray; two sisters, Charlotte and Alan Bennett of Morgantown; Ellen and Herschel (Herk) Kessler of Elkins; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wanda and Liz King, Stevensburg, Arnold and Sarah Bolyard, Sinclair, Jerry and Norma Murray, Sinclair, John and Penny Murray, Marquess, Sandra Murray, Fellowsville, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Vester and Ona Pearl Jenkins Greathouse; paternal grandparents, Lester and Goldie Nicholson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Mary Murray; step grandmother, Zeda Greathouse.
