Larry Allen Morris

Larry Allen Morris, 60 of Newburg, WV passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Mon General Hospital with family by his side. He was born on June 19, 1963 in Painesville, OH, son of Don Allen Morris and stepmother Connie, Newburg, his mother, the late Mary Ellen (Uphold) Sheets and his stepfather, Richard Sheets of Newburg. Larry graduated from West Preston High School, Class of 1981 and served the United States Army from June 1981 to May 1987. He was a coal miner for Arch Coal in Philippi, and previously worked construction and as a Tree Trimmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his son. Larry was always lending a helping hand to others. In addition to his father, stepmother and stepfather, he is survived by one son, Wyatt Franklin Morris, Newburg; two brothers, Todd Emerson Morris, Newburg, Brad Morris and Rachel, Grafton; two sisters, Becky Denise Field and Steve, Bridgeport, Lisa Morris Swisher, Tunnelton; three aunts, Shirley Costlow and Albert, Medina, OH, Loretta Jean Weaver, Kingwood, Joyce Jennings, Fellowsville; and his special cousin, Rick Uphold, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his mother, Larry is preceded in death by one infant sister, Lisa Renee Morris; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Morris; one brother-in-law, David Swisher; several uncles. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 3:00 PM until a time of sharing at 7:00 PM. Graveside service will be on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at West Virginia National Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard.
