Lawrence (Tommy) Samuel Spencer, 62 of Tunnelton, WV passed away on October 14, 2021 at WV Caring Hospice Facility in Elkins, WV. He was born on April 9, 1959 in Rowlesburg, son of the late Samuel Arthur Spencer and Edith Marie Moats James. Tommy loved reading, woodworking, doing crafts and gardening. He had worked at several jobs for the Town of Newburg, Alleghany Wood Products, and Preston Sanitation. Tommy is survived by his wife, Beth Ann Moats Spencer; one daughter, Rebecca Spencer, Clayton, NM; three sons, Shane Spencer, Morgantown, Damien Spencer and Benjamin Spencer both of Tunnelton; five grandchildren, Alex, Gabriel, Sebastian, Nevaeh and Roman; one honorary son, Peyton Pifer; three sisters, Linda Sisler, Rowlesburg, Darlene Titchnel and Darvin, Albright, Faye Sanders, Kingwood; one brother, Joe Spencer and Bobie, Parsons; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Junior and Debra Moats, Tunnelton; two sisters-in-law, Leslie Pifer and John Edwards, Tunnelton, Debbie Moats and Chris Barker, Tunnelton; two brothers-in-law, T.J. Moats and Brandy Barber, Independence, Joseph Moats and Christine Guthrie, Kingwood; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by one son, Shaun Michael Tyrell Spencer; two brothers, Chaster Harold Spencer and Benjamin Spencer. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Tunnelton, WV on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Rick Bloom officiating. A Public Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Howesville United Methodist Church.
