Linda Sue Burgoyne

Linda Sue Burgoyne, 72 of Denver Community, Tunnelton, WV passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019. She was born on October 23, 1946 in Grafton, daughter of the late Noah Lee and Helen Louise Shaw Layton. Linda graduated from Tunnelton High School, Class of 1964. She had worked at Preston Memorial Hospital, Sheidow Bronze, was a rural mail carrier, Chucks Store and JB&E Cleaning.  Her hobbies were crocheting, cooking and going camping.  She was a charter member of the Tunnelton Community Ambulance Service where she was an EMT with her husband Harry for several years and she also held the offices of Secretary and Treasurer. She attended Harbor of Life Church.  Her love and joy in life was spending time with her family, friends and the fur babies, consisting of her birds, cats and dog.  Linda is survived by her husband, Harry F. Burgoyne of fifty three years; two daughters, Shawn Rankin and Tadd, Denver, Tanya Strawser and William, Fellowsville; two grandchildren, Nolan Rankin and Emma Clarkson, Tunnelton, Mason Rankin, Tunnelton; one sister-in-law, Virgilene Marsh and Kevin, Tunnelton; one brother-in-law, Michael Goughenour and Lawren, Newburg; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Layton and wife, Shirley; two sisters, Marjorie Bucklew and William, Patty Marsh and Cecil. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV,  Monday, September 30, 2019 from 2-8 pm and, Tuesday, October 1, 2019  from 10 am until the service at 12:00 Noon with the Pastor Sam Cline officiating.  Interment will follow at Mount Israel Cemetery.
