Margaret Lou Trickett, 96 of Independence, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Grafton City Hospital. She was born on December 14, 1924 in Arthurdale, daughter of the late Frank Lowe and Margaret May (Zinn) Smith. Margaret worked for the Preston County Board of Education and was a homemaker. She attended Independence Baptist Church. She enjoyed antiques. Margaret is survived by two sons, Dennis Trickett Sr, Mike Trickett and Belinda, both of Independence; one daughter, Ruth Sapp and Wayne, Westfield Center, OH; two grandchildren, Dennis Trickett Jr and Amber, Carmichaels PA; Sean Sapp and Renee, Medina, OH, four great grandchildren, Cassy, Carly, Nash, and Sloane; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harmon Trickett on December 22, 1988; two brothers, Orval and Joseph Smith; three sisters, Mildred Elaine Bolyard, Mary Olive Leasure and Genevieve Edwards. Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St. Newburg, WV, Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 3-7 pm, and Friday, June 25, 2021 from 11am until time of service at 1 pm with Rev Carl Trickett officiating.
