Mary L. (Sapp) Grimes

Mary L. (Sapp) Grimes, 96 of Newburg, WV answered the call of her Lord on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Stonerise, Kingwood with family by her side. She was born August 30, 1924 in Newburg, daughter of the late Clay E and Sadie V Emerson Sapp. Mary graduated from Newburg High School, Class of 1943. She enjoyed attended the Newburg Senior Center and loved to work in her garden. Mary was a very special person, friend and loved her family. Mary is survived by two sons-in-law, Frankie G Johnson, Newburg and Milton R "Ike" Harris, Pittsburgh; five grandsons, Nathan R Harris and wife Ashley, Pittsburgh, PA, Andrew C Harris, Berlin, Germany, Matthew Johnson and Marguax, Aurora, CO, Gregory Johnson, Morgantown, Kurtis Johnson, Suffolk, VA; two great granddaughters, Nora Johnson and Evelyn Harris; one great grandson, Hayes Harris; one nephew, Jerald Swearengen, Phoenix, AZ; one niece, Patricia Bolyard and Carl, Independence. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Fred E Grimes in 1986, two daughter, Linda D Harris in 1995, Karen L Johnson in 2020, one brother, Kells G Sapp and wife Renita “Patty”, one sister, Frances V Swearengen, one nephew, James Swearengen, one niece, Mary Frances Swearengen. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Friday, May 14, 2021 from 3-7pm. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00PM at Damon Cemetery with Don Hayes officiating.
