Max Allen Burgoyne Jr. 45 of Newburg, WV passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019. He was born on February 25, 1974 in Morgantown, son of Max Allen Burgoyne Sr and wife, Janie DeBoni-Burgoyne, Independence, and Gay Ann Lanham Burgoyne, Harrisville. Max graduated from Preston High School, Class of 1992. He served his country in Iraq, Bosnia and two deployments to Korea in the US Army for ten years. He was a coalminer from 2004 and was currently working for Leer Mine in Grafton as a Fire Boss. He enjoyed hunting, being outdoors and tinkering with everything. He was always on the go. He loved his family time. In addition to his parents, Max is survived by his wife whom he married on Sept 17, 1999, Jaime Marie Robison Burgoyne; one daughter, Gabrielle Alyn Burgoyne, Newburg; one sister, Jessica Fluharty, Parkesburg; two nieces, Lily and Lakota; maternal grandparents, Slyvia and husband, Ted Firestein, FL. several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his four legged companion, “Waylon”. Max is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gary Lanham Sr, paternal grandparents, Robert Emmitt and Mildred Cain Burgoyne, mother-in-law, Jacqueline Swisher Smith and father-in-law, James Milton Robison. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 2-8pm and on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 10am until time of Funeral service at 12:00 noon with Pastor Mike Willis officiating. Inurnment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery. Military graveside service will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post#3081, the American Legion Taylor County Post#12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24, and their auxiliaries, and the US Army National Guard of Camp Dawson.
