Michael “Big Mike” Jay Warden, 73 of North Chesterfield, VA passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, VA with family by his side. He was born on July 25, 1948 in Los Angeles, CA son of the late Raymond Perry and Gloria Hope “Webb” Warden. Mike served in the United States Army with the Airborne Paratrooper. He was an avid Steelers and Mountaineers Fan. Mike loved riding his Harley Davidson, enjoyed street and drag racing and was always adventurous. Mike is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Betty Sue “Funk” Warden, two daughters, Kalista Hornick and Steve, Deidre Harris and Ricky, all of North Chesterfield, VA; five grandchildren, Stephen Hornick, Kallie Warden, Kyleigh Aston, Tony Aston, Gage Brandow; one brother, Donald Warden and Cindy, MT; one sister-in-law, Linda Clarkson, Tunnleton; one brother-in-law, David Hixenbaugh, Rowlesburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by one sister, Diane Warden in 2006; one brother-in-law, Paul Clarkson; one sister-in-law, Dolly Hixenbaugh. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 11am until time of service at 2 pm with Rev Rotha Hall officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Zion Cemetery, Moatsville, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard of Camp Dawson.
