Mikel Paul Burns

Mikel Paul Burns, 45, of Louisville, KY, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020. He was born on May 2, 1974 in Morgantown, son of Kathy and Keith Conn, Fellowsville, and the late Mikel C. Burns on Aug 1974. Mikel graduated from Preston High School, Class of 1992. He served our country in the United States Army during the Bosnian War. Mikel was owner and operated of his own over the road truck after the military. He also drove for Swift Transportation Trucking Company and Cosco and was currently working for 84 Lumber in Louisville, KY. He was a member of the Brown Memorial CME Church in Louisville, KY. Mikel enjoyed hunting and making different types of wood American Flags. He is survived by his wife, Rhomunda "Monei" Thompson Burns; six children, Maria Nicole Burns, Duncan Keith Burns, Jada Cecilia Burns, Aiyana Ceballos, Rholunda B. Cashaw and Kaylyn T Cashaw; one grandson, Grimm Jayden Lawrence Harp; one sister, Cynthia M. Lyons and Michael; two nieces, Lynsey N. Lyons and Trisha R. Lyons; a special friend, Dexter Huffman and Whitney; several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father, Mikel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph “Laze” and Bernice Burns, Acie Hershman and Kate Hershman, Arnold and Nona Conn. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Saturday, March 14, 2020 from Noon until time of service at 5pm with Rev. Reginald Barnes officiating.
