Myrl V. (Cline) Murray, 88, of Marquess Community, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born December 5, 1935 in Marquess, daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Estella “Stella” Blanche (Schooley) Cline.
Myrl was a dedicated homemaker, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Her greatest attributes were serving her loving God, playing the piano and organ at various churches along with ministering and song for around 70 years. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was a member of the Harbor of Life Apostolic Church. She enjoyed participating with the youth of the church. To describe the depth of the Christian love and example of strength she displayed for her family and her community is far beyond comprehension. She was deeply loved by all who know her. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten by family and friends.
She leaves a legacy that continues on in all of the hearts of her loved ones. Myrl is survived by three daughters, Carol Sigley (Danny), Hohenwald, TN, Melanie Murray (Bob Thompson), Maria Haskiell, both of Marquess; daughter-in-law, Debora Murray, Marquess; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Myrl was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" R. Murray, on October 29, 2012; one son, Johnny R. Murray, on February 11, 2018; one son-in-law, George "Jake" Haskiell Jr.; siblings, Thelma Friend, Hazel Colebank, Ova Funk, Evelyn Cline, Raymond Cline, Russell Cline, Marvin Cline, and Adam Cline. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Friday, July 26, 2024 from 2-7 pm, and Saturday, at the church, from 10am until the funeral hour.
