Naomi Marie (Bolyard) Thorn

Naomi Marie Bolyard Thorn, 78 of Fellowsville, WV passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at her home with family by her side. She was born on May 29, 1946 in Fellowsville, daughter of the late Lester and Velma E Simpson Bolyard. Naomi graduated from Fellowsville High School, Class of 1965. She was self-employed for many years, owning her own antique and video store. She loved doing crafts, sewing, gardening, collecting antiques, going to flea markets, watching birds and especially taking care of her grandchildren. Naomi is survived by four children, Corinna Shahan, Fellowsville, Andrea Shahan Poling (Rich), Fellowsville, Doug Shahan (Lori), Kingwood, Lynette Scott Shahan (Troy), Kingwood; nine grandchildren, Laura Thomas (Jeffrey), Kayla Brown, Samantha Cannella (Michael), Kendra Brown, Simon Poling (Savannah), Evey Poling, Avery Shahan, Lillian Pitzer, and Isaac Pitzer: and two great-grandchildren, Cora Brooke Thomas and Octavia Rae Cannella; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Naomi is preceded in death by her first husband, Dwight Shahan; one great-grandson, Jeffery “JET” Eron Thomas; two sisters, Yvonne Murray and husband, Charles, Shirley Bolyard in infancy; one brother, Richard Bolyard in infancy. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 12 noon-5:00 pm and Monday, October 14, 2024 from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am with Pastor Tina Cartwright officiating.
