Nelson George Edwards

Nelson George Edwards, 83 of Fellowsville, WV passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Stonerise in Kingwood. He was born on July 15, 1939 in Tampa, FL, son of the late Nelson Dale Edwards and Eugenia Jean (Raulerson) Edwards Squires and step-father, Charles Squires. Nelson was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for most of his life, working for America Transport, Allegheny and was owner and operator of his own company for sixteen years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, watching NASCAR racing and always joking with everyone. Nelson is survived by his wife of thirty two years together, Joann R (Funk) Shaffer Edwards; three sons, Raymond Edwards, Ronald Edwards, Michael Edwards and Trina; two daughters, Marli Duncan and Randy, Christina Hendricks and Matt; one step-son, John Shaffer and Kathy; one step-daughter, Tina Huffman and Kenny; nine grandkids, Molly and Matt, Heather and Adam, Brandon and Joy, Destiny and Brian, Charity and Matt, Noah and Ashley, Wyatt, Logan and Levi; ten great-grandkids, Parker, Hope, Jackie, Zion, Alexander, Rowan, Lillie, Marion, Ezra and Ilia; three brothers, Raymond Edwards and Patricia, Johnnie Squires and Linda, Michael Squires and Deborah. In addition to his parents, Nelson is preceded in death by one son, Richards Edwards; one brother, Charles “Chuck” Squires. Family and friends will be received at Harbor of Life Church, 111 Jake Lane Tunnelton, WV on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm with Rev.
