Norma Jean “Bolyard” Hershman, 94 of Fellowsville, WV, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at her residence with family by her side. She was born on November 23, 1927 in Preston County, daughter of the late Howard Melvin and Macel (Bolyard) Bolyard. Norma Jean was a woman of Christian Faith and chief cook and bottle washer. A light of Jesus to those who knew her. Anyone who came to her home, never went away hungry. She loved doing gardening, growing flowers and fixing desserts, cooking, but her passion was quilting. Many other people who knew her called her “Nanny Jean” or “Mama”. Norma Jean is survived by two daughters, Lauralei “Laura” Cathell and Joan Hershman; five granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Norma Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Ross Harold Hershman; six siblings, Esther, Edna, Mildred, John, Alberta and Richard. Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 3-7 pm and Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 9:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev.
