Norman Blake Ridenour, 88 of Rowlesburg, formerly of Fellowsville, WV, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2019 at Oakland Nursing Home in MD with family by his side. He was born December 22, 1930 on Laurel Mountain, son of the late John Morgan and Shirley Bolyard Ridenour. Blake served his country in the United State Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Department of Highways as a Foreman with twenty three years of service. Blake enjoyed being on the farm with his horses and riding his International Tractor. He was a member of the Stemple Ridge Centennial Union Church and the Tunnelton VFW Post # 2345. Blake loved spending time with his family. He is survived by wife whom he married on August 29, 1980, Nancy Ruth Stemple Ridenour; four sons, Timothy “TiM” Blake Ridenour and Carrie Liang, New York City, NY, Jeremy Blaine Ridenour and wife, Mary Katherine, Riner, VA, Danny Blake Ridenour and wife, Patty, Tunnelton, Joey Morgan Ridenour and Nickcole, Elkins; two daughters, Blosum Maria Cline and husband, Sam, Tunnelton, Pennie Lorraine Murray and husband, John, Tunnelton; seven grandchildren, Selena Sunshine Gidley and Dustin, Starla McCauley and Matthew, Danny Paul Ridenour and Ashley, Micah Ridenour and Melody, Stephen Ridenour, Fynn Alexander Dean Ridenour, Wyatt Blake Ridenour; eight great grandchildren, Heidi, Ethan, Olivia, Mason, Summer, Hope, Bentley and Morgan; one sister, Vera Lyla Clare Moats and Ralph, Owings Mill, MD; two half-brothers, Gregory Ridenour and Barb, Tunnelton, Delmas Ridenour and Kathy, Ellenton, FL; seven sisters-in-law, Nellie Ridenour, Violet Holyfield, Mary Holyfield, Evelyn “Sissy” Auvil, Mary Stemple, Betty Moore and Charlie, Janet Sliger and Larry; special friends, Virginia Jones and his furry friend, Bubba, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Blake was preceded in death by stepmother, Margie Holyfield Ridenour, five brothers, Clifford Ridenour and wife Sylva, John Ridenour and Marie, Donihue “Odie” Ridenour, Ed Ridenour, Marion “Pooch”, two sisters, Eldred Knotts and Warren, Hilda Sigley and Paul; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lester Ernest and Arlene Virginia Lantz Stemple, two step brothers, Robert Holyfield and Raymond Holyfield, two brothers-in-law, Richard Auvil and Erwin Stemple. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Sunday, August, 4, 2019 from 1-7 pm, and Monday, August 5, 2019 from 9 am until time of service at 11am with Jeremy Ridenour, Joey Ridenour and Sam Cline officiating . Interment will follow at the Flag Run Cemetery. Military graveside service will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post#3081, the American Legion Taylor County Post#12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24, and their auxiliaries, and the US Army.
