Paul Edward Moats Sr, 79 of Tunnelton, WV passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Mon General Hospital. He was born July 2, 1939, in Tunnelton, son of the late Howard James and Goldie Elsie Sisler Moats. Paul served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a coal miner for most of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and especially making birdhouses. Paul is survived by one daughter, Susie Howell and Michael, Kingwood; six sons, Paul Edward Moats Jr and Mary Jane, Tunnelton, Curtis Lee Moats and companion, Charlene, Tunnelton, Kenneth Lee Moats, Kingwood, James McCullen Moats and Sue, Kingwood, Gregory Allan Moats, Kingwood, Lionel Nelder and Delta, Grafton; three sisters, Cora A Wilson and Jack, Independence, Dora Lea Everly and James, Kingwood, Shirley J McKinley, Petersburg; one brother, Charles A Moats and Roseann, Albright, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey Moats and Donald Moats; two sisters, Opal Nelder and Dolores Fullmer.
