Paul “Peanuts” Junior Hall, 68 of Independence, WV passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at his residence with family by his side. He was born on December 4, 1957 in Independence, son of the late Paul Walter and Loretta Antille (Bowman) Hall. Paul graduated from Newburg High School, Class of 1976. Paul was a maintenance worker for the Preston County Board of Education with 21 years of service before retiring in June 30, 2020. When he first starting working, he did Building Construction with Jim Andrews, and often busy doing side job for many people over the years, including the Sheltered Workshop and with Rich Maxwell & Son Heating and Air. Paul was a member of the Solid Rock Church, Trustee and Song Leader. He was always spending time with his church family and he loved singing at the church and at the nursing homes with whosoever will and visiting other churches. Paul especially enjoyed driving his Jeep when hunting. He had a giving heart and was often busy himself in the service of others. One of his well-known talents was his gift of playing Santa. Paul spent many years spreading cheer in schools and for families throughout the county. He was blessed with a large family and many who claimed him as such. Paul was survived by his wife, Patsy Darlene (Lyons) Hall, although their years together were short, their marriage was strong and fortified in a mutual faith in the Lord; he is also survived by a bonus father, James Leonard Andrews Sr; mother-in-law, Nancy Goss, Newburg; daughter, Sherry Neyman (Teddy), Independence; four grandchildren, Sarah Larew (Bryce), Jessie Feather, Sabra Feather and Jerrid Weaver; one great granddaughter, Journie Rae Weaver; six brothers, Walter “Lee” Hall (Rotha), Masontown, Larry “Dink” Hall (Judy), Terra Alta, William “Bill” Hall (Margaret), Monterey, VA, Ott “Cricket” Hall, Independence, James “Shrimp” Hall (Charlena), Washington State; and James L Andrews Jr (Melody), Fallon, NV; two sisters, Betty “Sadie” Blosser (Arthur), Reedsville, Kathryn “Sis” Rose (Bryan), Grafton; two sisters-in-law, Martha Sue Brewer Hall, Fairmont, Brenda Goss (Carlos), Gladesville; two brothers-in-law, Delbert Lyons (Kathy), Tunnelton, Rick Lyons (Loretta), Newburg; bonus aunt, Esther Brewer, Gladesville. Paul was blessed with many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by bonus mother, Shirley Andrews; son, James Roy Weaver; one sister, Bertha Irene Hall Knotts, four brothers, John Dewey Hall, Roger Lee “Shorty” Hall, Charles Ray Hall, Otto Harold Andrews; sisters-in-law, Laura Togher and Judy Hall; aunt, Irene Bowman Workman; father-in-law, James P Lyons. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to WV Caring and nurse Jolene Groves who helped ensure his comfort and peace in his final hours. Pastor Mike Matlick for staying by his side throughout the night. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Avenue, Newburg, WV, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and again on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Matlick and Pastor Delbert Lyons officiating.
