Obituary
Richard Lane Adams, Sr., 75 of Tunnelton, WV passed away on Wednesday, January 04, 2023 at his residence with family by his side. He was born on November 24, 1947 in Tunnelton, son of the late Paul Adams and Amy Muriel (Plum) Deavers Adams. He graduated from Tunnelton High School, Class of 1965. Richard served in the United States Army Special Forces during Vietnam. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and enjoying spending time with family. Richard worked for Syro Steel in Youngstown, OH, Hinkle Brothers, Clarksburg, Drilling Riggs, Welch, Big Joe and Big John, Tunnelton, Northco, Morgantown, Fibair, Reedsville. Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon Matlick, Tunnelton; two sons, Richard Lane Adams Jr, Terra Alta, Tracy Lane Adams and wife, Erin, NH; two step-sons, William Matlick and John Matlick; one daughter, Shelly Adams, FL; three grandkids, Taylor, Jackson and Laura; step-grandkids, Violet and Tristan; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by seven brothers, Edward Deavers, Lester Deavers, Charles Deavers, James Deavers, Dave Adams, Tom Adams and Wesley “Buddy” Adams.
