Robert "Bob" Elwood Varner

Robert “Bob” Elwood Varner, 67 of Morgantown, WV, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 12, 1956 in Washington, PA, son of the late Fred Elwood Varner and Wanetta Agnes Crider Varner. He was born in Washington, PA and spent his childhood in Bull Run, Masontown, WV. In his earlier years he was a truck driver and later, he was a handyman. He enjoyed drawing and was a talented artist, along with feeding the deer. Bob was a gentle soul.  Bob is survived by one son, Craig Allen Shaffer, Independence; one granddaughter, Penelope Shaffer, Masontown; companion of twenty years, Melanie McGartland and they adored each other; one brother, Fred V Varner (Mary Ann), Kingwood; and several nieces and nephews.
